About me:

I am a UKCP Registered Psychotherapist and have been practising since 1993.

Initially a Special Needs Teacher from 1979, I moved on to manage therapeutic residential services for emotionally traumatised, hurt young people.

Following some extremely valuable and intensive years at the Cotswold Community from 1987 until 1991, I began my Psychotherapy training in 1992 at the Northern Guild for Psychotherapy, qualifying with a Diploma in Psychotherapy in 1999. I was awarded the Post-Qualifying Diploma in Child Psychotherapy by the Northern Guild in November 2011.

I undertook the levels one, two and three training in Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy with Dr Daniel Hughes at the Family Futures Consortium in London, from 2004 to 2006.

More recently, I was awarded the Certificate in Supervision from the Bath Centre for Supervision and Team Development in November 2011, having trained with them in 2010 and 2011.

I currently provide training, consultation, supervision and direct psychotherapy services to a range of Child Care providers and other organisations - including fostering agencies, residential child care organisations, adoptive parents, teachers and prison officers.  I also run a private Psychotherapy practice for adults, children and young people, couples and families.

I have worked for Five Rivers Childcare in various capacities since 1995.

I have a passionate interest in Attachment disorders and disruption; how these affect people, and how to work with them. I am passionate about therapeutic childcare.

I receive regular clinical supervision of my work, working to the Codes of Ethics and Practice of the Northern Guild for Psychotherapy, and the UKCP. I carry professional indemnity insurance and am registered with the Data Protection Agency.
